Cameos with straight noses, as depicted here, are associated with the Victorian era (1837-1901). The handmade style c clasp with release dates this piece between 1890 and 1920. However, a cameo brooch with a pin that extends beyond the edge of the base or catch is a strong indicator of an early to mid 19th century, specially 1850s-1870s. Because of the clasp style, we suppose it was created sometime around 1900. The rich colors and undulating surface are simply stunning. Dimensions are 1.8" x 2.15".
